H.264 is commonly deemed a more enhanced video format because it offers high quality and reduced file dimensions when compared to MPEG-4. On the other hand it may take a longer time for H.264 video to encode than the standard MPEG-4. That is, H.264 will take longer time to convert a two hour movie to ipod video.
