Why Visiting Milos Is A Great Idea

By:

Located in the Aegean Sea, Milos is an island of volcanic origins that is not that known to tourists visiting Greece. This is not fair because this isle, also called The Island of Colors comes to the table with huge history and incredible landscapes, all in a setting that is perfect for a memorable and relaxing vacation. Most people that visit it come back as they are fascinated with what they find here.

The ancient town of Milos, the place where Venus de Milo was found, is right near an ancient theatre that was traced to the Golden Age of Rome. This is just one of the many history linked places one can visit, including museums and traces of ancient Greece.

Although history monuments are always found in various spots of the country, Milos stands out of the crowd because of the landscape and the variety of colors that give it its nickname. We are talking about vines that are everywhere combined with olive, cypress, orange and arbutus trees that make up a feeling of walking through a rainbow.

Milos is easy to reach as daily flights from Athens exist and there is also a possibility to come here via ferry from one of the close shores. Once you get to island prepare for a relaxing vacation. You have over 70 different beaches to choose from and each one is special. You will not find bars, stereos and restaurants there so relaxation is guaranteed. To put it simple, it is quite easy to get rid of the stress of a bigger city and finally have some peace and quiet, all in a surrounding that is special. Even the sand is unique compared with different parts of the world. It ranges in color from white to black and so does the water from dark blue to green.

Although Milos is mostly a place perfect for relaxation, tourists should not neglect the fun side of things. You can choose from many discos, bars, clubs and you can go for water sports, one thing that Milos is particularly good at. In fact, you will find some of the best water sports facilities in Greece here, all with the added plus of the surroundings, of course.

Any tour of Greece would not be complete without Milos and all people that came here agreed to this. You should put in at least 2 days of your Greek vacation schedule for The Island of Colors. Enjoy relaxation, traditional cuisine, night life, day life and life at its best, basically perfect. Make sure that you book in advance if visiting during July due to the many festivals that happen here. You might not get what you want if you do not do this. Milos is growing in tourist popularity and is sure to soon become more popular in Greek tours
