There are the individuals who fall into the "natural born leaders" group but the skills of leadership can only be learned through experience, and the decision to accept the role is personal. Even those individuals with little self-confidence can learn the skills needed to be a powerful leader. So what are the important qualities for a successful entrepreneur? I have listed the key qualities below: 1. Bravery: Success is gained through innovation and trailblazing, not playing it safe and closet-mindedness. Truly great entrepreneurs will rather take a leap into the unknown rather than take a well-beaten track. 2. Focus: Many entrepreneurs have lots of ideas but the biggest skill you can have is a focused mind to turn those ideas into opportunities. It is better to have a single idea that you follow through to completion then to have lots of idea's that never come to market. 3. Courage: To experience a setback or a failure is a disappointment, but to soldier on through it all, pick up the pieces and start again takes courage and determination. Too many people give up if they make a mistake, only a few are prepared to learn from them and turn them to their advantage. 4. Open-Mindedness: Having a closed mind is one of the worst qualities in an entrepreneur. You do not know everything. Lay your plans open to examination and judgment by those who do. 5. Methodical Care: Even the best idea in the world can be destroyed by not taking care in bringing the product/serviced to market. Always ensure that the idea is well thought through and thoroughly tested.
