The Holidays are notorious for revealing our worst sides, including that of our family's. When we ask people how their holidays were, we get a "I'm so happy it's behind me" response. I'm sure you've heard this before, perhaps you yourself have said the same thing. So while the bitter tastes of dysfunctional family dynamics may linger in the air for a bit longer, we have to remember that everyone wants peace. Yes, even those that seem to actively prove otherwise by purposefully stirring up old grudges. These days a lot more is happening than just messed up family dynamics being forced to gather up around the Christmas tree. Has it come to your attention that things in general have shifted on our planet, not just for us as individuals but for all of humanity? Over the past 3 months I can't tell you how many of my friends and clients have "suffered" a gap in their relationships, have broken up, tried to mend their relationships once again, moved out, divorced, gained weight, gotten terribly sick and so on. It's been a roller coaster ride for many in the truest sense of the word. There are many reasons for that. Part of it is the mass consciousness that affects everyone of us, even those who do not watch TV and do not read the newspapers, another part is astrological; we are going through an exiting time in our evolutionary journey. The coldest season is resting upon us and it's not uncommon for us to hibernate, snuggle up, spend more time inside our homes and inside our spiritual kingdoms. It's the season to reflect, even if we are not aware of it. This is the season when then sun is visible less time than the moon; and you may know that our moon controls gravitational forces, the mystery, the deep of our very soul, our dream state, our intuitive sides and so on. Our moon is a representation of contraction; this is the time we hold our breath. Our moon affects what some refer to our third eye, and much more. On the other hand, the sun controls radiation, the giving, shining onto other things, it is responsible for activating and connecting with our solar plexus, if we just would let it. Our sun is responsible for our expansion when we exhale. This month and next, I would like to encourage you more than anything to breathe, breathe deep and breathe with a purpose and goal in mind. Here is an amazing breathing exercise that you can practice on a daily basis, especially during those stressful times. - Fill your abdomen and chest with a deep breath - Hold it for eight seconds - Let the breath go as slowly as you are able to - Repeat this process seven times When you start this breathing exercise it may feel like you're out of breath, simply take a regular breath in between the deep breaths. That's okay. The best times to do this exercise are first thing when you wake up while laying flat on your back. You can achieve additional benefit if you also do this last thing at night before falling asleep. You can also do this exercise throughout the day when you're in your car or waiting in line and so on. Remember that when you take a breath in, you also breathe in the mysteries of life, so breathe in only what you can handle and what you desire. When you breathe out you are activating your breathe and activating your solar plexus with the sun in our galaxy. Our solar plexus is a tiny version of our big sun and has the exact same function, capability and effect on our life and body as does the sun to Mother Earth. Our sun is a giving sun, so when you breathe out you are also in that giving mode. Just like the sun helps things stay warm and makes things grow, when we breathe out we do the exact same thing for others. Therefore it's important that we are filled with only love, gratitude and blessings for our universe and humanity, aware that just as the rays of our sun reflect off the moon (and thus never ceases to be visible) the same rays we reflect into the world also affect people's lives. Our breath not only gives life, it also sustains life and has the power to create life. So go out there and literally create the life you have always dreamed of, and remember to create with love.
