The Worst Celebrity Car Endorsements

By: J. Brandon Perry

A British car magazine has recently come up with its list of the worst celebrity car ads. They chose the 5 most ridiculous star endorsers basing on the “blind praises” they make on the endorsed car.
Car Magazine UK has come up with their list of the five most cringe-worthy celebrity endorsements.
Bryan Adams and Audi. The magazine thought that just because Adams has sung during the launching of Audi A4 at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show is reason enough for him to become an endorser.
Tiger Woods and Buick. Mr. Woods is endorsing the Olympic Edition Buick Regal. As far as memory serves right, Tiger has never won an Olympic Gold, not even an Olympic medal. Everyone knows how great an athlete Tiger Woods is. But don’t you think fielding an Olympic gold winner would have become more appropriate?
Celine Dion and Chrysler. The commercial was 198 seconds long. It featured Ms. Dion’s voice and the various angles of Chrysler cars and auto parts. Can you stand such an off pairing?
OJ Simpson and Hertz Car Rentals. Why in the world would your company want an OJ Simpson as endorser? Unless Hertz would want to create some sort of revolution, other companies can follow suit by signing in other infamous celebrities like Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, and worse, even the Al Qaeda man himself, Osama Bin Laden.
McLaren and F1 Drivers. Not a bad advertisement as such, but could the timing have been any worse? Strangely this ad has recently disappeared from our TV screens.
