You see a commercial for the latest in cooking gadgets. Perhaps it’s a garlic peeler. Or maybe it is a special device to core an apple. And since you eat a lot of apples or cook with garlic all the time, you may be tempted.

But when it comes down to it, if you know what you are doing in the kitchen and use all of the little tips at your disposal, those gadgets may save you only seconds, if that. Is the extra expense worth it?

If you stock your kitchen with a few basic, high quality tools, it will turn you into a better chef. If you buy all the latest gadgets, it will only take up space in your kitchen. So that you don’t fall into that trap, avoid feeling the temptation of those commercials and cooking demos!
