Taking a Look At The Epson 9880 Three-Level Black Ink Innovation

By: nfriend21

With the Epson Stylus Pro 9880, Epson has unveiled its new “three-level” black ink technology that, like most of their innovations, demonstrates excellence. This new feature is notable for simultaneously combining black, light black and light-light black ink during the printing process. This process dramatically enhances the printer’s gray balance while eliminating color casts. This is excellentnews for photographers who have issues over their art work not transferring well to canvas due to experiences with color casting they may have had with other printers.
In addition to these features, the Epson 9880 exhibits outstanding midtones and highlights for a more delicate tonal range. Again, these are awesome specs for photographers who demand top-level results for their work. Artists can also expect the Epson 9880 to virtually remove the metamerism and bronzing of basic pigment chemistry. Another feature artists: This printer improves the ICC profiling process for ColorSync and ICM workflows, which is a huge benefit to artists and photographers who expect nothing but the best.
With this new black ink characteristic, the Epson 9880 also features two user-exchangeable black ink modes. Printers can employ two different black ink modes – photo black or matte black. This inventive development enhances the black ink density for many media types, dramatically improvingthe end product.

The regular photo black ink mode can be applied to any media type with exceptional results. However, for certain Breathing Color media such as Elegance Velvet, Optica One and Brilliance Chromata, applying the optional Matte Black ink mode instead will dramatically improve your black optical density for an outstanding print quality.
