When life happens in ways that make us feel less than secure, stress is the normal reaction. Stress is the underlying cause of many of our medical conditions, not to mention psychological conditions. Allowing stress level to build can have serious long term effects along with a lessened quality of life.

Frequently, medication is typically the first option of the allopathic medical practitioner. While medication may be a quick fix, it doesn't work for everyone, has side effects and does not teach the person how to deal with the stress.

For those opting to lower their stress in a more natural way without the use of prescription drugs will find a plethora of options to lessen their stress along with the negative effects of stress.

Taking a long walk to clear your head is one of the best ways to alleviate stress. Walking is an excellent form of exercise for your body as well as your mind. You can walk out your frustration so that you'll be able to come back refreshed and tackle your problems again.

Shifting your mental gears by listening to music. Relaxing music, especially classical music, will help slow our thoughts down, allowing us to be more clear minded.

The overload can cause stress to escalate and bring on a number of problems for us, so give it a break. Listening to relaxing music will ease the racing thoughts and help us to think clearly when we return to our problems.

Find something you really enjoy doing and make sure you do it at least once per week.Doing something we enjoy puts us into a totally different mindset where our outlook on things will be quite different and a lot more positive. Having something fun to look forward to makes it easier to get through stressful days when life is too much.

Starting a fun craft project, playing tennis, having a girls night out, take dancing lessons.... or get a massage. Massages are a terrific way to melt away accumulated stress. So is Yoga. Stress is stores in our tissues and when thgose tissues are kneaded or stretched the stress simply flows away.

Putting a lid on your emotions is a great way to make your stress level build. Allow your emotions an outlet. When you want to cry, allow yourself to do so. Crying in itself lowers the level of cortisol, one of the stress hormones.

When feeling angry, smacking a punching bag, os beating your couch with a foam baseball bat is a very safe way to release anger, one of the more detrimental emotions to keep bottled up. You can beat that stress by learning what works for you. You will be much more happy, and so will your body with a lowered stress level.
