It's very important that you you're your life and your possessions organized. I know to some people that may sound easier than saying it, but if you feel that way then you're in for it right before you actually get started. If you have a spouse or an older child that could help you stay on task then utilize that option. Second, try writing everything down, you know a to-do list. I know you think that you can just wing it and handle the everyday matters as they arise but your asking for a lot of confusion when you're presented with many decisions at one time. If you write these things down and keep it handy then you can just refer to it I case you forget. Third, Along with your to-do list, create a simple record keeping system of the boxes you have packed and from what room they came from and what room it will go to in your new place. You have no idea just how much by doing that it will save you on time and grief trying to figure out what is in boxes when you have so many piled up. It is so instinctual for self movers to unload a box and place it in the first room they come to with the intent to go through it later. That is the biggest waste of time and most aggravating of things to do. So do yourself the favor and mark boxes. I think you get that point. Whether you're having professional movers come and pack up your home tackling the job of doing it yourself, try to create a system and don't let anyone tell you different. Involve all your family members on that project. Don't put the list down unless it's in a place you'll call Packing Central. This is where you'll find your labels, marking pens, box tape, and other supplies.
