Reviewing The Epson 9880 Three-Level Black Ink Latest Release

With the Epson Stylus Pro 9880, Epson has released its new “three-level” black ink technology that, like all of their features, leads the industry in excellence. This new feature is unique for simultaneously utilizing black, light black and light-light black ink during the printing process. This process dramatically enhances the printer’s gray balance while doing away with color casts. This is outstandingnews for printmakers who have concern over their photographs not copying well to canvas due to experiences with color casting they may have had with other brands.
In addition to these features, the Epson 9880 produces remarkable midtones and highlights for a more delicate tonal range. Again, these are wonderful specs for photographers who expect top-level results for their work. Photographers can also count on the Epson 9880 to almost eliminate the metamerism and bronzing of basic pigment chemistry. Another feature photographers: This printer enhances the ICC profiling process for ColorSync and ICM workflows, which is a huge benefit to every photographer and artist in the industry
With this new black ink feature, the Epson 9880 also exhibits two user-exchangeable black ink modes. Printers can actuate two different black ink modes – photo black or matte black. This inventive system optimizes the black ink density for various media types, dramatically modifyingthe final product.

The regular photo black ink mode can be applied to any media type with professional results. However, for certain Breathing Color media such as Elegance Velvet, Optica One and Brilliance Chromata, utilizing the optional Matte Black ink mode instead will exponentially increase your black optical density for an outstanding print quality.
