The tactics parasiteware uses are one of the many things that are invisible for us on the Net. Parasiteware is not officially labeled as harmful but it does make nasty things because it gathers information about us and sends it back to web masters, who benefit from this. Probably Web masters don�t have a better way to gain money and attention and that is why they use parasiteware. As a rule, when we open our browsers, they either load the default start page, which most often is the site of Microsoft, or the page we have selected to start with. People often change their start page to be Google or Yahoo! because usually the first thing they do when they open a browser is to check their email or perform a search. But start page hijackers desperately try to find opportunities to change our start page. The tactics they use usually open an unfamiliar site in your browser without your consent. You might even be inclined to think that the home page change has been made by somebody else, who uses the same computer and he or she has bookmarked this page by mistake. When you discover that your start page has been changed, the first thing you must do is try to restore your original home page. If after you restore your default home page, you see the strange page again, you can think that your home page has been hijacked. Each time we log on to the web and visit sites, we are aware that our computer solicits different tracking links and cookies stored on our computer�s temporary folder. Now consider the fact that some people may not be that technically aware of what these things are. Unfortunately, authors of parasiteware are pretty much adept about them. Although parasiteware is not considered harmful, you should try to remove it. There is no reason to keep tracking links and cookies on your computer. All these parasites invade your privacy and can send your confidential data to places you didn�t want it sent. What is more, is it fair that somebody else makes money by using you this way? The next time you run a spyware removal tool; don�t be surprised to see parasiteware detected. For sure, most computers today have a lot of them on hand. There is indeed no threat, but they are certainly up to no good. No one in the world would want any untoward intrusion in their computer and that is precisely why preventive measures must be taken from PC hijacking these days. As the term connotes, PC hijacking will surely be up to no good. Having someone take control of your computer is the worst thing you can experience and chances are once this does occur, you may soon find yourself cramming for an immediate solution to restore order for your computer. Consider these parasites as preying on your computer as a means of bridging gaps for other companies� benefit. Now isn�t that a bit lame considering your computer is being used as an accessory to a crime? The thing is you cannot escape the clutches of parasiteware today. It is simply rampant and the only recourse is to scan you PC every day. But knowing that it doesn�t really pose as a threat on your end, the question is: would you care if they are present or not? Perhaps that is the best question to ask the next time you make preparations to log on to the web.
