When it comes to Sony PSP game downloads there are certain things which will need to be taken into consideration to ensure that you get the best out of the games that you have chosen to download on to yours. In this article we will provide you with some useful guidelines which will help to ensure that you get the best possible when you start to do PSP game downloads on to yours. At the time of buying your Sony PSP it may be wise to invest a little money in getting yourself a good quality memory, especially if you are going to be playing large numbers of games on yours. Look for ones like the Pro Duo Card which comes with a very large memory base and is also suitable for using with the Sony PSP. When it comes to actually downloading games on to your PSP you have two choices available to you. You either download them directly on to it or else you can download them on to your PC or Laptop before transferring them over to your PSP. Preferably I would use the latter method then you can keep a copy on your PC just in case something happens to your PSP. But before doing this you need to know exactly what type of firmware (operating system) you have on your PSP so that you have the right software installed on your PC and which will allow you to then transfer games from one to the other. Also the games you choose to download should also be compatible with the firmware on your PSP or they will not work. When looking at the various different download websites and you have found a game that you want to down load the first thing you should do is check the file. Only ones which end in "PSP" are suitable for you to download. This is important to remember as a number of websites will offer the same program in a number of different formats as they are cater to all the various gaming consoles now available. Another thing you need to have installed on your PC if you choose to download games here for your PSP is a compression application. This is because a large number of PSP games files will have been compressed in order to save space on the websites database. If you own a Mac you will need to get a program such as Expander whilst for those who are running Windows then WinZip is perfectly adequate for decompressing such files. Once these folders have been unzipped you will discover that there are two files contained within the folder that you have downloaded. Once folder contains the game itself and the other is a "read me" file which has come from the author of the game. Next you need to connect your PSP to your PC in order to download the games that you have saved onto it. You can do this in two ways either by using a memory stick or connecting your PSP to your PC through use of a USB cable. If you choose the latter method in order to transfer the files from one to the other you need to press the "Home" button on your PSP and then going into the "Settings" menu. Once in this particular part of your PSP you need to go down to USB connection and then press the X on the PSP. The memory stick contained within your PSP will then connect to your PC. Now all you need to do is copy the file over, but remember to place them in the PSP>Game file on your memory stick in your PSP or they will not work properly.
