It has been discovered that the amount of touching a pregnant dog receives determines how well its puppies are able to tolerate people touching them after they are born. Puppies who have little or zero tolerance for people touching them probably had no contact while in their mother’s womb. Even if you send your dog away to training school, you will eventually have to be present at a point during the training to learn all about the commands your dog is responding to. Contrary to what some people think, a dog cannot be trained in your absence because you need to be the one to issue out the commands. Your dog needs to get used to your tone of voice before it responds to any command that you issue. Never punish a dog when it responds to a recall command because if you do, it will assume that each time you call it, it will get a punishment and may fail to respond the next time you call it. If your dog is exhibiting an undesirable behavior, go over to it and punish it. Dogs learn by associating their actions to yours. Herding dogs are born with the instinct to herd. Herding dogs are usually used in farms and the countryside to herd cattle or sheep. Walk your dog before you begin training it so as to help loosen up. In walking your dog, don’t let it walk beside you or in front of you if you want to establish a master/ follower relationship. Always ensure that your dog walks behind you so that it knows who the boss is. A pregnant dog needs human touch in order for it to produce amicable puppies. Scientific evidence shows that pregnant dogs that are constantly in contact with human beings give birth to an amicable litter. If you have a pregnant dog, a constant belly rub will communicate your affection to the growing puppies and help to produce healthy puppies. If your dog training commands don’t seem to be having any effect on the behavior of your dog, don’t be quick to blame yourself. A dog may fail to respond to a string of commands because of physical or psychological disorders. Take your dog to see a dog behavioral analyst if your dog is acting out of order.
