Hair Loss And Thyroid Problems

There are many reasons why a person could be losing their hair even at a young age. Some of these are because of hormonal changes taking place in their bodies, for others it may be to do with their dietary habits. Whilst for others it may be caused by severe stress (whether mental or physical) and for others it could be caused by a medical condition. Tip 1 - It is important that the first step you should take is to obtain the right diagnosis for your condition. Just because you are losing your hair does not necessarily mean you have a thyroid problem. So seek the assistance of a good dermatologist, hair loss expert, or a doctor who deals in hair loss issues.

Tip 2 - If you do have a thyroid problem then it may well be down to the drugs you are taking to replace the thyroid hormone that you are deficient in. Certain thyroid drugs, such as Synthroid, can lead to excessive hair loss in a person as one of its possible side effects.
