There are plenty of free things you can offer to the customers that come to your coffee shop. These items can entice them to become regular customers that will stop in numerous times per week. Something as simple as giving out punch cards they can present each time they make a purchase can win their loyalty. The number of punches it takes to fill up the card is up to you. It can be after ten purchases or even after twenty purchases. You may be worried that you will be giving away too many products. However, if you can turn these casual customers into daily ones you will more than make up for that cost with the additional sales. Consumers love to get something for free. Think about what else you can give them for free when they have filled up a punch card. You can have small drawings each month for special prizes. Try to make them something that will further promote your business such as travel coffee mugs with your business information on them. You can be really creative with the prizes you offer and they don't have to be worth very much money either. It is a good idea to offer something relating to your business but you don't have to. You may decide to go with a larger type of drawing. For example all of the completed punch cards can be placed into a drawing at the end of the year for a free vacation. If you want to increase the stakes, consider only having one drawing each year. Customers can fill up as many punch cards as they can to be in the drawing. Make this for something spectacular such as a trip for two. The additional business these promotions generate will more than pay for the expenses involved in the free give away. Do you offer free samples at your coffee shop? If not you really should consider doing so. Too many customers get accustomed to their usual drink because they are afraid to try something new. They may stop coming in though as they have grown tired of that particular drink. With free samples you can encourage them to try new items on the menu. They will embrace that selection instead of feeling threatened by it. With the advances in technology today, people are relying on computers for everything. You may want to offer some free services at your coffee shop to accommodate that dependency. Those that have a laptop with them will really appreciate being able to access wireless internet connections free of charge. Some coffee shops have computer terminals set up that customers can come in and use instead of using their own. This is a personal choice that you may want to consider. It does increase the cost of getting your coffee shop operational but it can definitely draw a crowd of customers for you as well.
