Front Sight Firearms Training Institute is America's largest firearm training school. Every year, Front Sight trains more students every year than all other major shooting schools in the nation combined. Dr. Ignatius Piazza, a former California chiropractor, is the founder and director of Front Sight, and it his mission - and therefore Front Sight's mission - to safeguard and protect all of America. Dr. Ignatius Piazza is certainly no stranger to the fact that one of the first places America needs to look to see its safety threatened is its schools. As any observant person knows, public safety and individual rights some how are often in contention. Though as any wise person knows, public safety and individual rights do not need to be opposite forces. In fact, add individual responsibility to the mix, and you've got a whole new ball game! Front Sight Firearms Training Institute had a well-publicized press conference a few years ago. Shortly after a long string of school shootings rocked the nation, Dr. Ignatius Piazza said that he had the solution to such horrid acts. Using the state of Israel as precedent, Dr. Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight Firearms Training Institute set out on a mission to get America's school teachers trained to the highest standard of firearm use and safety and armed with semi-automatic pistols. Fully aware of the press such a decision would create, and the turmoil that would ensue, Dr. Ignatius Piazza was ready with evidence. In the 1970's, Israel was faced with a similar problem that America is faced with right now, except Israel's shooters were not mis-diagnosed, mis-drugged children on psychiatric medication, they were terrorists. Terrorists would enter schools, kill dozens of children and adults and then either kill themselves or get away! The problem was becoming pandemic, so Israel's lawmakers looked for a solution. After long searching and extensive research, Israel adopted the decision to require that all teachers and all parent aides be armed with a semi-automatic handgun. The result? School shootings plummeted to zero, and have stayed such. When confronted with that fact, many opponents say that the problem is then that having firearms would be increasingly dangerous, only adding to a furious hotbed of contention. Dr. Ignatius Piazza and all students and staff of Front Sight Firearms Training Institute cannot help but laugh when they hear such news. Anyone who's ever received intelligent firearms training, much less firearms training from Front Sight can tell you that the possibility of adding to mayhem or accidentally shooting a non-combatant or non-aggressive person is so slim to nil, that it's not even a consideration. Dr. Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight Firearms Training Institute encourages America to realize that school shootings are not going to just disappear: read the newspapers. But while you're at it, realize that there are an increasing number of articles that are showing the burgeoning understanding that firearms training is the way to keep our students safe, and arming our teachers is how to keep our schools free of these atrocious acts which have horrified us for so long.
