Would you like to quit smoking? Have you unsuccessfully attempted to stop smoking in the past? If you have answered these two questions with a yes, this could be an article worth reading. Up until around a year ago I used to smoke around twenty cigarettes a day. I must admit that I did enjoy smoking, I would have a cigarette before work, after work, after eating a meal, with a cup of coffee, just before bed and when drinking alcohol, just to name a few. I was aware that I should really stop smoking, mainly for health reasons, but that it would really mean changing my whole.

Last year, I finally decided that enough was enough; I was going to attempt to stop smoking. I sought help from a friend who had successfully quit smoking around two years before.

He stated that I should not require patches but what I would need is a lot of will power. Think of just how good and proud people will think of you if you do manage to quit smoking, he said. But what if you fail with your quest, they will think that you are a loser, he continued. Do you want be known as a winner or a loser?

Then he talked about how much money you can save, over a thousand pounds a year. This could go towards a holiday or some other venture.

Then there are all of the health benefits, the list goes on and on.

I listened to what my friend had advised and gave it a go. To say it was difficult to stop smoking would be an understatement, but I did succeed. Every time I wanted a cigarette I would think of the money, or my health, and about how proud my wife would be of me I could quit smoking forever.

It is said that smokers are more prone to death than others; this statement is very true, because different parts of the body are affected by the contents of cigarette. These effects may not be initially obvious, but with time it begins to show: it is actually a gradual process - every stick of cigarette takes away approximately eight minutes from the smoker's life. If that is the case, the person smoking two packs a day must be seriously harming his body organs and also taking away a lot of time from his/her life time. It is time to quit using drugs or any other means available.

When a smoker eventually quits smoking either by drug method or any other means; every body organ begins to function better just after two weeks of quitting, the heart begins to function better, the brain begins to respond better to stimulus, the liver and kidneys work better, in fact, the whole body is liberated from the cycle of death; this should trigger everyone to stop the smoking habit forever. But, before proceeding, you should know that any method of treatment you choose is dependent on some essential points. The success of any method especially the drug treatment method of smoking is directly proportional to the smoker's adherence to the following simple rules, they are easy to use.

Make sure you have firmly resolved to quit smoking or you are not going to make a hedge way, since it will only take a determined effort coupled with the strong will to succeed in this fight to succeed. Set the quitting of smoking as the most important goal in your life and remain focused on that goal without breaking. Invest the money previously used in buying cigarette on the drugs to quit smoking. In other words, instead of buying packets of cigarettes, buy packets of the drugs to stop the smoking habit. Follow the medication strictly and remain focused in your goal - with these simple rules you will find out that the smoking habit is a forgotten one. Do not remain with that habit; you can start living a better life by quitting today!
