Designer Wedding Dresses - Do Not Do This

People always fascinated me. Most of my time in my life I have spend it working with persons in different aptitudes of social work. I enjoy observing people grow and develop. I like to watch people attain targets that they thought were out of their get. In some ways watching my clients grow and develop is the same as seeing my children mature. Each of them is so different from the other, yet they share the same belief systems and values.

Through her teenage years, my daughter and I have had a love hate relationship. I do not feel it was much different than most mother and daughter relationships, and we have become very close now that my daughter is an adult, just like my relationship with my own mother. She has always been fascinated with weddings. Even if she does not know the persons, she likes very much to go to weddings at our church, she plead to be able to watch the bride walk down the aisle by sitting in the back of the church. To look at the designer wedding dresses, she would buy bridal magazines. For her birthday one year she asked to go to the bridal show so she could see the models in the various designer wedding dresses.

She was not thinking about or visualizing her own wedding, she just liked to see all of the decorations and gowns and the cakes that individuals preferred. Through the years I noticed that she was talented to see the details and that her ideas about wedding plans and designer wedding dresses were quite good. I did not know if these skills were lead to anything, but her sense of style was appreciated. She signed up for general education courses at the local university when she graduated from high school. Since the commute was less than thirty minutes from our house to the campus, she continued to live at home.

One day she returned home from the University very excited. She had been looking in the windows at designer wedding dresses when she noticed a help wanted sign. She went in to apply for position and was hired. She will be helping clients try on wedding dresses and bridesmaid's dresses. She will help with measuring and placing orders. She is so excited about this new job. She went to the fast food establishment where she has been working since she was seventeen and gave her two week notice. Because she will be surrounded by bridal wear every day, she thinks she got a job from heaven. I am not sure if this will lead to a full time career, but for now my daughter is very happy. That what is important to me.
