Are You Sad About The Rapid Increase In Oil Prices? Be Happy!

By: GARKO

I managed to find somebody yesterday who is optimistic about the US economy! . He owns a print shop and has a masters degree in economic studies. His viewpoint did make sense. He says that the crash of the dollar means that the US can export goods again and be competitive and that this will usher in a new era of revitalized manufacturing in America and ultimately cause a financial boom. I hope he is right. I am not so sure. But it was at least good to meet someone who has an optimistic viewpoint about the American economy and where it is headed. And this kind of viewpoint really applies to other things too including the price of gas.
There is one great benefit of the lofty price of oil that environmentalists should be celebrating: it is giving many people reason to look into renewable fuel sources, so much so that the rising price may open the door, finally for a major wave of alternative energy projects that will, in turn, lead to greater scale economies and perhaps the mainstreaming of alternative energy. This would be a serious lemons to lemonade sort of scenario.
Overall, the high price of energy is having some pretty bad effects -- but if a shift to renewable energy sources results, this silver lining could be an epic and historic shift.
The longer fuel prices remain at prices most people consider unacceptable, the more substantial potential consumer drift. A 10% rise in fuel prices lowers consumption by just 0.6% in the short term, but it lessens demand more significantly over a longer period of time

As people decide on the important things for the future, such as where they want to reside and what is the best vehicle for them to own, they are beginning to take into consideration in the cost of fuel. Some are opting for smaller cars or are moving closer to their jobs to cut down on driving.
The recent concern has halted or slowed many new subdivisons, high gasoline prices have cut consumption and restrained purchasing of gas-guzzlers, and increasing construction costs are restraining new coal and gas facilities.
Meanwhile, a shift in government subsidies from the oil industry to alternative energy sources are generating a frenzy of new renewable energy construction.
But the most amazing factor is that all that is going on while the real workable method to improvement in fuel mileage and helping the environment through cleaner emissions is RIGHT HERE AT WATER4GAS
