This dog generally thrives on an indoor lifestyle, particularly in colder climates. Puppies with no hair like this one are not well suited for outdoor living and cold temperatures. So if the Chinese Crested catches your fancy, look for the Powder Puff type with a full hair coat that will help keep your little companion warm during the cold months. Dog-owners located in hot climates will discover that the hairless Crested breed to be ideal, though sunscreen is imperative if the Chinese Crested puppy will be in direct sunlight for any length of time. Skin allergies are common in this dog, so be on the lookout for strange reactions and treat them promptly at your local vet.
