A Review of Trilastin

By: Sarah Clarke

Of all the products available that are formulated to reduce the appearance of stretch marks, Trilastin SR is the most widely known and used. This has been the case ever since it was reviewed on the Tyra Banks show.

Stretch marks, also known as striae, can occur when the elastic fibers that connect to the skin are overstressed which is commonly brought on as a result of pregnancy or excessive weight gain.

For a stretch mark cream to be effective, it needs to penetrate deep into the skin and actively repair the damage to the tissues below. Trilastin does this by containing ingredients found in healthy skin such as elastin, collagen and soy protein. This effectively prevents any further damage to the dermal tissue, and also helps repair any existing injury.

A reduction in the visibility of your stretch marks from using Trilastin will of course be different for each person, however a visible improvement should be seen after about 3-4 weeks and a major improvement after about 12 weeks.

Trilastin can also be used to stop stretch marks from appearing by using the product during pregnancy rather than after it once the damage to your body has been done. This, as well as the fact that it is made from all natural ingredients makes it the most widely used stretch mark cream among mothers to be.

Trilastin does not need to be applied forever either. Once the desired improvement in your skin has been reached, you discontinue using the cream and your marks will not come back. It is possible for new stretch marks to occur if your skin becomes overly stretched again.

The cream Trilastin is a safe and effective method for reducing the appearance of stretch marks. It is a popular alternative to other more invasive stretch mark treatments.
