It drives me absolutely crazy when my laptop is running slow. I am on the internet all the time and I really do not have the patience to wait on a slow computer. With cable internet, I want this computer to be flying at blazing speeds. But somethings, things happen to make my laptop run slow. Your laptop needs to have maintenance done to it periodically. These are not difficult things, and are also items you can do for yourself. Sort of like changing the oil in the car. Although it may not seem like it needs it, you should still do it. Computers are the same. Worst case scenario, and this is probably what you have been told by your friends, is to just reformat the entire computer. This would involve completely erasing what is currently on the hard drive and re-installing Windows. Personally, I don't like this option. Another option is to go into the registry and mess with these files. These files tell the computer how to work. Oh yeah, do you even know what or where the registry is? The windows registry is a central component to the windows system and it holds all of the windows applications, sort of like a large database. And because it is like the backbone of the whole system if you manually change something that you were not supposed to change. Woops! There goes the system, and all your files, and all your music, and all your photos. Oh, oh, now what! There are programs that help you clean the windows registry on your laptop. These are called windows registry cleaners, and can be found and downloaded to your computer. Using a registry cleaner software is the best way to get some of the speed back in your computer. It will run a scan of the entire computer, tell you all of the problems, and then fix the problems. The benefit of a windows registry tune-up is that you can do it yourself, because most registry cleaning utilities are easy to use. All you need to do is, install it, run the program and let it find and list the errors for you. Before letting the program fix the errors, choose the create a back up option, just in case something should go wrong, and then click fix registry and you are done. The program does the rest for you and you wont have to suffer from your laptop running slow again.
